How do I pay a fine?

Payments on the Bloemfontein Campus, for fines, lost books and cubicle rental, can be made either at the UFS cashiers on the Thakaneng Bridge (next to the ABSA bank) or at the ABSA bank.

Use the following reference codes for the Bloemfontein Campus libraries:
- Fines - libfinestudentnumber
- Lost books - libloststudentnumber
- Study cubicle rental - libcubrentstudentnumber
- Study cubicle deposit - libcubdepstudentnumber
Payments on the Qwaqwa Campus can be made at Finance, Intsika building, between 8:30 and 15:00.
Use the following reference codes for the Qwaqwa Campus library:
- Fines - qlibfinestudentnumber
- Lost books - qlibloststudentnumber
Payments on the South Campus can be made in the Admin building, near the main entrance.
Use the following codes for the South Campus library:
- Fines - slibfinestudentnumber
- Lost books - slibloststudentnumber
Please note that your student/staff/external client number must also be on the proof of payment.
Removal of fines from the Library system will take 24 - 48 hours. if you would like the fine to be removed immediately, please email proof of payment to:
